IFM Electronics OF5016 polarized retro-reflective laser sensor is made of brass nickel-plated housing and PMMA lens. It features DC PNP electrical design, 10 to 36V DC operating voltage, <35mA current consumption. The transmitter and receiver are incorporated into one housing. The transmitter emits a fine laser beam which is reflected to the receiver by a prismatic reflector specially designed for laser sensors. The interruption of the laser beam is evaluated. The small beam diameter allows detection of tiny objects and their exact positioning.
