A photocell is a light operated switch that switches the supply ON a luminaire when the light level falls under a pre-set value (usually Dusk) and switches the supply OFF when it rises above a pre-set level (usually Dawn). Photocells help to drive down costs and improve energy efficiencies by ensuring lights are not on when not needed.
